Barclays Pingit App

It's about time Barclays would come up with such a nifty little app! Not the ideal app yet, but certainly a step in the right direction. Right, so, what is this all about?

Barclays has just launched "Barclays Pingit" for iOS (iPhone), Android and Blackberry, which allows you to send and receive money by using a mobile phone number. After you install it and set it up with your number, name and account details, which include a few verification steps (SMS and PinSentry), you are ready to start sending or receiving money!

The other "undocumented" benefit of this app is that you can check you balance as well! Now all we need is for Barclays to add the possibility of looking at your statement, pay bills and do transfers.

If you have an account with Barclays Bank and a UK mobile phone number, this is the app for you! If you are not a Barclays customer, you can actually register to receive payments, and soon you will be able to make payments as well.
